August, along with the heat, school has begun once again!

Kids are walking, or riding bikes to & from schools- busses are picking them up and dropping them off - fall is approaching (which makes the sun rise in a different area in the sky) it is, at times, chaos!

How to prepare for this change? Slow down and obey the laws. It takes more time to get stopped and issued a ticket than it does to just slow down and pay attention to what is happening around you. Put the phone on silent and use this time to relax and enjoy the changing colors of the leaves (while waiting for children to board a bus). Check out those current bicycle styles (while waiting on them to cross the street). The office will still be there when you arrive.

Speaking of busses all over the place - how do you know the driving rules/laws when a bus is stopping for kids on Yale Ave? Glad you asked! You can do an internet search for "driving around school busses in Oklahoma" and look for links that contain - Oklahoma dot Gov. This will be the state laws and not legal assistance or newsletters from a group of people drumming up business.

OH - that fall sun! As it shifts its angle of morning rise, it can truly blind you while driving. Again, S.L.O.W. D.O.W.N. Maybe wear sunglasses or use your visor. YOU have to determine the plan of action for you to make sure you can see. As you go through trial and error finding the solution, you have a great opportunity to discuss what is happening with your children, thus doing a little pre-driving training!
